Connections/Contrasts:
- Evil antagonists from extremely popular and successful video game franchises focused on horror, science fiction and with highly complex stories surrounded by mysteries, being responsible for and having great influence on the events of their respective games.
- Both are petty, narcissistic, arrogant, apathetic and extremely cold and intelligent robotic beings motivated by scientific curiosity and obsessions.
- Before they were the death machines they eventually became, they were both genius and relatively grounded, though still evil and cruel, human scientists (Harley Sawyer/Caroline) who worked as employees at successful and innovative companies focused on scientific experiments and research (Playtime Co./Aperture Science).
- Without the public's knowledge, both contributed to these companies becoming evil and reckless corporations in relation to their actions with numerous security breaches in their names, carrying out dangerous and unethical experiments involving their creations and experiments in secret, becoming directly or indirectly responsible for a large part of the events in their respective histories.
- Both were extremely obsessed with the idea of immortality and tried to achieve it at all costs with their potentially dangerous and highly unethical research and experiments through technology.
- Both were eventually ambushed and supposedly defeated in an attempt to finish them off, only to have their minds transferred into mechanical bodies and returned in larger, stronger forms that only facilitated their Machiavellian activities (Sawyer was stabbed in the back by his co-workers and was transformed into a digital consciousness on Lieth Pierre's orders/Caroline's brain was forcibly uploaded into GLaDOS, killing her in the process, but transferring her consciousness into GLaDOS).
- Although they finally achieved the longed-for immortality they so desired, they both lost the few traces of humanity they still had left and were trapped for a long time, unable to carry out their activities (Sawyer was transformed into a harmless digital consciousness with no ability to act on his own/Scientists built personality spheres and attached them to GLaDOS, blocking his murderous intentions.)
- Both, however, would become powerful beings after managing to free themselves from their non-physical chains with the help of another person (Harley manipulated a jailer during the Hour of Joy into giving her the Omni-Hand, granting her power and total control over all Playtime Co./GLaDOS technology was accidentally reactivated by Wheatley after spending hundreds of years reliving a recording of her death after it was destroyed.)
- Both spent long periods of time trapped and immobilized for years until the arrival of the protagonists of their respective games.
- Both constantly spy, analyze and observe the progress of the protagonists of their respective games thanks to the fact that they are robotic beings and have all the technological access to the places they inhabit.
- Both have enormous contempt for a specific robotic being that hinders their plans and ends up being a huge evil (Wheatley/The Experiment 1006).
- Both, although they boast about their immortality and say that they will never die, can be defeated in stupidly easy and pathetic ways (The Doctor being killed just by being turned off/GLaDOS having been destroyed and defeated in the most varied ways, including being temporarily transformed into a potato).
- Both are proud and use their artificial creations to carry out their cruel acts and carry out their evil plans for them (The Doctor's monsters/GLaDOS's robots).
- While The Doctor has always kept his memories of his life as a human, GLaDOS was unaware of his past and origins as a human the first time he woke up, discovering the truth only at the end of the second game.
- While The Doctor was easily defeated after simply being turned off, GLaDOS remains alive thanks to her robotic nature which makes her truly immortal in essence, unlike the Doctor.
Thanks again u/Vexorus-2

Doctor who vs Dr. Who’s Cushing effect
Main Post:
I am hoping we get a canonization of peter cushing’s “Dr. who” in the actual doctor who multiverse. He needs to be integrated like was Richard E Grant’s shalka doctor i. “Rogue”. Cushing is not Doctor Who he is “Dr.Who”. The only character in the films & show you can legally name “Dr.” All others are “the doctor”. Period.
Top Comment: The posters of the films are in the black archive I believe. The Book version of Day of the Doctor, mention that the Movies exist as Movies in the Whoniverse as fictional adaptions of his adventures from leaked unit files. Kate mentions that the Doctor is a big fan of the films and lent Cushing something from his wardrobe. A waistcoat I think. There is also a throwaway line that suggests that - In the universe of Doctor Who - Cushings appearence in Rogue One was facilitated by the Doctor giving him a quick trick to the future, with "Resurrected with CGI" being a cover story Unit put out. The idea is so charming, I think I prefer it as my canon to being multiverse.
